HSX High Pressure Float Valve

HSX High Pressure Float valves are the simple and cost-efficient solution for refrigerant expansion.

As a leading German manufacturer, AWP manufactures HSX high pressure float valves for NH3 and CO2 refrigeration and cooling processes, which are essential for industrial activities such as cold storage, transportation, chemical processing, cement production and pharmaceuticals.

How it works

The purely mechanical design of the HSX high pressure float valves offers energy-saving operation of the refrigeration system as well as a high level of safety without additional wiring and control effort.

The principle is as simple as it is effective. If the cooling capacity increases, the liquid level in the HSX high pressure float valve rises and the refrigerant is expanded via the purely mechanical throttle opening. As a result of this relaxation (pressure drop) in the outlet, there is a liquid-vapor mixture behind the high-pressure float valve, which is diverted to the separator.

A high pressure receiver is usually not required.

The continuous expansion of the refrigerant prevents pressure fluctuations and reduces the amount of flash gas. This reduces the electrical power consumption of the compressor.

By HSX high pressure float valves, low condensation temperatures can be exploited, particularly in cold seasons, without having to worry about the control. For example, a condensation temperature that is 5 K lower can save over 13% of energy!

One more thing - Hot Gas defrost

Effective hot gas defrosting with HSX high pressure float valves.

With the help of HSX high pressure float valves for NH3 and CO2, the effectiveness of hot gas defrosting of evaporators can be optimized in terms of energy. Since the high pressure float valve only allows condensed liquid to pass through to the low pressure side, the energy destruction caused by hot gas flowing unused to the low pressure side is prevented.

Compared to other defrosting methods, up to 50% energy can be saved with the HSX high pressure float valve.
